Love, Lace & Lingerie | Our Favorite Underwear for February

February is a time for love, romance, and according to my socials, new underwear!

Surge has a fabulous selection of beautiful stretch laces and breathable fibers that are perfect for high quality undergarments. The promo team has sewn a variety of different underwear patterns from different designers, some steadfast favorites and some brand new. If you already love to make your own lingerie, some of these will be familiar (popular patterns are popular for a reason!) If you are new to making your own lingerie, hopefully this will inspire you to try something new! It's a lot easier than you might think and so rewarding to have a comfortable piece made specifically for your body. Whether your style is sporty, lacey, matching, or cozy, I hope this round up will inspire you to take the plunge this February to upgrade your underwear!

"I absolutely adore matching sets but due to my bust to hip spanning multiple size ranges, RTW is rarely an option for me. So I was on the lookout for a pattern (or perhaps 2) that would allow me to make a cute under garment/base layer/sleep set. When I came across the Designer Stitch Bella Cami & Brief I knew that would be perfect for me! The lace trim is the perfect amount to be a little feminine and flirty all while being easy to sew and most importantly comfortable to wear. With so many options as to different cami lengths and brief cuts, you can really find your preference in a single pattern. I opted for the boy leg cut and the full length cami. It turned out so cute, and fit perfectly! I'll be making plenty more to fill my drawers with!"

I used the Stitch Upon a Time Bunzies for another pair of panties!

I love these two panties patterns because of how well they fit my curvier body, as well as the fact that they offer band options! I personally prefer bands rather than elastic, so these patterns are perfect for that!"

"I made the Esme panties from Evie La Luve. This pattern is packed with options. I chose it because it was the closest design to my favorite ready-to-wear undies. It’s a favorite! I also made the new Aphrodite pattern from Made for Mermaids. It is a size-inclusive design that is also highly customizable. I can’t imagine a prettier pair of undies and they are actually comfortable!"

"To be honest, I was skeptical about spending $12 on a pattern that looked very simple to create myself but with all the hype about Emerald Erin, I gave it a shot and I'm really happy that I did. These are hands down the best fitting undies I have ever made. They don't feel oversized (which is a typical issue for me with underwear, guess I like a snug fit!) I really enjoy that the instructions help you figure out how much to stretch the leg band lace as that's something I've always struggled with. These look exactly like my VS undies that I pay at least $10 a pair for! Totally worth it. The subtle V in the front is exactly what I look for in shaping, looks and feels really flattering to me. I made 2 pair and they came together quick and took only scraps of modal that I had left over from previous projects. If you are hesitating on this pattern, I say go for it! I will bet that you'll love the fit, too!"

"I would say it was love at first sight, when I came across this beautiful floral double brushed poly and stretch lace. Inspired by the fabric duo, I wanted to make something delicate, playful and intimate. I've been wanting to make a selfish sew of intimates for awhile and when I saw the Darcy bralette and Esme panties from Evie La Lúve, I jumped on the opportunity to create such a beautiful and lovely set. After completing the last details and tried them on. I felt so dang pretty. I'm completely obsessed now. Making your own intimates gives a whole new meaning to "me made" garments. I love that the inspired fabric combo and pattern are playful and perfect under a tank for summer too.
